Disability:IN Wisconsin is pleased to invite you to the ERG/BRG Networking Session

Wednesday, June 8, 2022

12:00 – 1:00 pm central time

Working Together:  Ensuring People with Disabilities Feel Welcome and Included in the Workplace

This session will be Facilitated by CUNA Mutual’s Allies for Disabilities ERG

Through all phases of employment, a basic understanding of “disability etiquette” is essential. Disability etiquette means respectful ways to communicate with and about people with disabilities. A basic understanding of disability etiquette can help ensure everyone feels welcome and included in the workplace.

This session offers some general guidelines and best practices for interacting with people with disabilities in the workplace. These are basic recommendations and some suggested etiquette. Use your best judgment and common sense, and consider the personal preferences of the person with whom you are interacting.

Join the conversation and share your business’s best practices on respectful communications and interactions with people with disabilities.

Audience: This invitation is extended to members of Disability:IN Wisconsin and their employees. You can forward this email to your ERG leaders and encourage them to register and participate.

Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) go by many different names (i.e., Affinity Groups, Business Resource Groups, Employee Network Groups), but regardless of what they are called, they share a common purpose. They are a voluntary, employee-led group that serves as a resource for members and organizations by fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with organizational mission, values, goals, practices, and objectives.
